FEMA'S MEP Ride

Already on Thursday May 5th a group of MEP's (Members of European Parliament) will pay a visit to Circuit Zolder and Clean Week 2020 in the context of the yearly MEP ride. The MEP's will do a trip from Brussels to Zolder by bike and will test some clean bikes, grap a bite and attend the election of the E-bike, E-scooter, E-bycicle and E-quadricycle of the Year. TEST RUNS

On Friday 6th May 2011 visitors attending the professional programme are welcome to carry out test runs with ‘green cars’, put at their disposal by the Belgian importers of the various car makes. No less than 50 vehicles are expected for runs on the circuit, specially redesigned for the occasion as a public highway, with a dash of adrenaline thanks to the start and finish being held in the circuit’s pit-lane. Not only will there be cars available for testing, a selection of e-Bikes, e-Scooters and e-Quadricycles will also be on hand for testing purposes on a specially laid out route in the paddock areas. Registration for these test runs may be carried out in advance online and should availability permit on the spot also.

Clean vehicles for Sustainable Companies by Febiac

Febiac, the Belgian automotive and two wheeler federation gives its supports a symposium from 10.30hrs through to 12.00hrs based on the strategy and future of the motorcar with commercial and political approaches. The symposium will be held in the Mediacenter at Circuit Zolder and can accommodate a maximum of 300 participants.

Clean Tech Solutions for cities and municipalities in Limburg

LRM organises a symposium on Friday afternoon with as key theme the Cleantech offer LRM has for the cities and municipalities of the province of Limburg. During this symposium LRM comments on her CleanTech strategy and the different projects within this domain. The participation will be free of charge but only accessible for the 44 cities and municipalities of Limburg.

The ‘Association Internationale des Circuits Permanents’ (AICP) is planning a breakfast meeting based on the theme of ‘green circuits’ and their role in striving to attain sustainable motorsport. The Vlaams Instituut voor Mobiliteit (VIM) – (Flemish Institute for Mobility) is looking into the possibility of once again holding their annual meeting during Clean Week 2020, more specifically on the start date of the event in 2011.

CLEAN TECH & MOBILITY EXPO

At 12.00hrs the Clean Tech & Mobility Expo will be opening its doors. Interested parties will have an insight into the products and technologies offered by companies in the field of clean tech and green mobility. This exhibition will hold its avant-première on Thursday 5th May, in the presence of Members of the European Parliament, who will be travelling on down from Brussels to Circuit Zolder on motorcycles.

EDUCATIONAL OFFER

Students from the third grade of secondary education studying electro- and automotive mechanics can attend workshops in the field of sustainable projects at Circuit Zolder. These workshops will be given in the pit-boxes by both students and companies presenting their technologies to potential future employees. In collaboration with the Vlaamse Regionaal-Technologische Centra (Flemish Regional Technology Centre) and Toekomst op Wielen (Future on Wheels).
